"Freshening Up the Front Door": Spring Edition

In this blog post, we wanted to chat about something sunny and bright to warm up this cold day! In our "Freshening Up the Front Door" series, we will be talking about how to add a little something special to your front porch or walkway depending on the season. This is a great way to improve your home's curb appeal, something that is very important in real estate.

With the holidays behind us and Spring waiting just around the corner, we are looking forward to the warmer weather and all the joy it brings.

So how can you prepare your house for Spring?

Start with a few simple themes: Flowers, colors, and details.

Flowers are first! - Let your home reflect the beautiful new life that is is popping up as the seasons change. You absolutely can’t go wrong with Daffodils, Pansies, or Lantana. (All of these come in yellow, which is important...we'll tell you why later on.) Your front yard is where many first impressions are made, so don’t be afraid to make it pop! P.S. Don’t forget to bring some flowers inside, too. A little bit of nature can really help bring a home to life!

Colors come next. - Yellow and gray are this year’s star hues. It is said that this combination represents calmness and unity. We love the look of a well placed yellow accent! Just a few yellow highlight pieces help echo the Spring sun inside your home. If yellow is too bold, try out another bright color. It's all about experimentation and finding what's right for your home!

Details, Details, Details! - Start with some regular old chores that you know you’ve been meaning to do: window cleaning, mopping, and gutters. This shows that you really care about the condition of your house. Once that is done the fun can begin. Finish off the bottle of winter red you have sitting around, and replace it with a fruity white! Exchange your campfire scented candles with some citrus or sea salt! We are all about first impressions, so add an exciting welcome mat to the front door to show off your personality!

At the end of the day, your home should represent you. Make it fun and welcoming, just like Spring!
